Hawaii Children and Youth Day and Month will observe its 33rd year since it started with events to feature the talent, contributions and potential of our treasured children and youth. The Child and Youth Advocate award honors those who have demonstrated notable achievements in advocating for children and youth during the past year. Hawaiʻi Children and Youth Day: Hawai'i is one of the first states in the United States of America to establish by statute, an annual celebration that honors and celebrates our children and youth and the wonderful contributions they make to our world. Children & Youth Day (CYD) happens on the first Sunday of October each year in Hawai'i. CYD is a time to recognize the potential and special gifts of our keiki (children) and ‘ōpio (youth). It is a time for them to shine and share their bountiful energy with their community.
